Tasks 1 - 3

Initially I was confused about what the tasks meant so for the first three tasks I did A4 sized drawings without the silhouettes in the images on the padlet.

Task 1 - the calm horizontal

For this one I simply did an observational drawing of a large statue that I felt fit the brief. The square plinth that the statue is sitting on is the 'calm horizontal.'

Task 2 - the more exciting landscape

I did not realise that you had to draw in the silhouettes and then draw objects from the museum between them. I interpreted the brief as finding objects and drawing them together. I picked the tall woven sculpture because it was vertical like the lines in the brief and the small jar because it was also vertical. I picked the last pot because I felt that its horizontal shape would provide a nice contrast to the other tow objects.

Task 3 - the diagonal movement

This task is not finished because we had to go down at 12 to discuss our work so far and then I fully understood what we had to do. I chose this sculpture because it fit on the diagonal line.
